ALBUM REVIEW:- STILL HERE

THE ALBUM IS THE SECOND STUDIO ALBUM FROM THE FAMOUS RAPPER KR$NA. THE ALBUM BECOMES A MAJOR HIT BY CROSSING 10M+ STREAMS WITHIN A MONTH OF RELEASE. THE ALBUM FEATURES COLLAB FROM INDUSTRY GIANTS LIKE RAFTAAR, IKKA, BADSHAH. LET US DISCOVER WHAT MAKES THIS ALBUM AS ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL MAINSTREAM ALBUM. PRODUCTION

• Album STILL HERE contains beats from diffrent Genre like a Boom Bap beat, a Trap beat, Chill Hip Hop beat, Old school beat.

• Though it had various types of beat but except the Fall off beat no beat stands out.

• The production according to me was average. It could have been better.

• Na Hai Time Vocal layers too seemed incomplete.

• Beyond criticism one thing which i liked was the piano based "Fall off" beat.

• I heard the beat and it got stuck in my mind. Perfectly working interlude.

• If I had to rate the production it would be 7/10 (According to DHH Current scenario)

RETENTION RATE

• This is the point which has criticism for most ancipated track from the Sophomore "Still here".

• Though the tracks like Still Here (intro) and Fall off takes retention rate to another level, tracks like Dream and What's my name brings it down.

• One of the blunders committed by Kalamkaar is in Pre-release and Delay in releasing the album.

• Pre-releasing all the three big tracks created hype for sure but had a major backlash making pre-released songs as Skip Tracks.

• My Final rating for retention rate would be 4.5/10

CONTEXT

• The album explains how Kr$na struggled in gaining the success he has now at present.

• The intro sets the stage beautifully and then lead forward by "Dream" in which he beautifully potrays his journey till getting signed.

• The interlude perfectly fits in the theme and counters the allegation of "Kr$na ki hype kahtam ho rahi hai".

• At last he explains now he is Living Legend, After potraying his story.

• This is the aspect i liked but Tracks like What's my name and Na Hai TIme somewhat spoils the vibe. This part will be explained in Sequencing.

• My final score for sticking to a theme is 7/10.

SEQUENCING

• This point can be controversial cause i felt disappointed after hearing the full album but it had amazing songs. The main reason was sequencing.

• The way both the commercial tracks Villian and Roll Up were placed back to back somewhat made be feel bored.

• I felt that Dream must have been placed after Intro cause Stage was set and Dream would have performed exceptionally well just after hearing Intro but what's my name spoils the vibe somewhat.

• My rating for sequencing is 7/10.

LYRICS

• So this is the point where i was expecting some damn 'ohhh' punches and mind blowing bars through out the album.

• But what turned out was opposite, Still here intro and Fall off had some mind-blowing bars but in other songs he was pretty average as compared to his pre released song Living Legend.

• I personally thought the album to be one of the best lyrical albums but it has no chance infront of Bayaan and Rap ka mausam.

• What I feel is Lyricsm was good, it wasn't bad but the hype created spoiled my mood.

• Though Fall off was exceptionally good with Triple and Double entendres filled.

• I felt one more hard song instead of half trap would have worked exceptionally well.

• One thing I have to point out is no experimentation in his sound in that trap song, his tone did not match the vibe of the song and it seemed half baked.

• My final score for STILL HERE would be 8.0/10.

IMPACT

• The album had an immense impact upon the new fresh audience. They are fascinated after seeing the lyricism in the album.

• This album reached masses immensely, from trending on twitter, topping Apple charts to ranking 4 on world wide charts.

• This album would surely affect new listners to listen more of underground songs but the effect is not that large on Core listners.

• I myself listened to the album 5 times but after that i didnt find anything for which i must stream it anymore, the most dominant reason is Pre-release becoming skip songs for me and bad sequencing.
