Nowadays a lot of rappers are opening their own label instead of joining the big labels. These small independent labels are known as Independent Record label or Indie label. What are they? Why every artist is opening their's? So let's have a look.
INDEPENDENT RECORD LABEL:-
WHAT IS INDIE LABEL ?
An Independent record label is such a label that operates without the funding of major labels. That is they are small labels opened by artists or people who don't receive funds from Big labels. There are many artists who opened their own label like Eminem with Shady records, MF DOOM Stone throws record, Raftaar with Kalamkaar, Divine with Gully Gang, etc.

A trend has started in India in Hip Hop music that many artists had started their own indie label after remaining independent or leaving their team. This is not happening only in India this type of scene happened in the US at the time of the late '90s or early 2000s when every artist who got famous opened their label. There are certain reasons behind that including financial and supportive ones. Let's have a look at some of them.
FINANCIAL REASONS:-
One of the most obvious and straightforward reasons is financial reasons. The artist might not stay relevant after a few years but his Label would as it could pour some of the finest artists in the scene and hence he would have an assured source of income.
SUPPORT:-
Another reason is to support the underground scene. The problems he faced to get the required exposure he would not want any artist from his area who is talented and to face problems to get recognization, So by signing him to the label he could help that artist to get recognized more easily as he would himself promote his songs.
PUSHING THE SCENE:-
Another valid reason which I think of is to push the scene. There are not many labels in the scene and not much money in the scene except for the mainstream artist so many rappers don't get money as well as a recognization for a long time in spite of being talented or good. By bringing those artists to label not only artist and label would get profit but the scene too will see a good amount of growth, It's like sponsors in cricket. In Dhh where there are not many labels opening a label and bringing new rappers ahead is a good thing for all.
