The Backstory of MR. NAIR !!
The album was supposed to be released as a deluxe album with two parts A & B with one being a commercial containing songs from the POP genre and some dance numbers while the other part of the album being a hardcore album (mainly for underground listeners). Raftaar had a contract for three albums from Zee music Label and he had released his first album "Zero to Infinity" so he had two more album to release, so instead of releasing the album as a deluxe and to complete his contract as soon as possible he released one album with mixing both A and B types. As a consequence, many listeners didn't like the overall album cause of the commercial songs and Raftaar is now releasing the rest of the hardcore songs in his Ep Barish.
Production:-
The production was moderate to good. There were songs in which samples were extremely good and also had songs in which beat was typical old school one. The mixing mastering in the whole album was top class. The chill songs and the dance numbers sounded pleasant to years with amazing and catchy beats. I really liked the whole sound of the album but somewhat being a mixed album is a disadvantage.
Lyrics:-
The tracks like Proud, Superman, and Me and My pen took the writing to next level. The tracks like Me wahi hoon and Dilli wali Batcheet were average tracks looking at tracks like proud.
Overall I liked that dance numbers also had good lyrics. They were decent and not just saying anything. Ending the album with a track like proud where you very precisely sums up the whole journey beautifully. The composition of the commercial track was very catchy, I loved those. Overall the album had three types of lyrics Extremely Good, Average to Good, and average.
Theme:-
The album was not based upon any theme and was just a collection of songs. It was more of a mixtape rather than an album.
The sequencing was the toughest part of the album but it was well sequenced starting with a hardcore song and ending with hardcore only with commercial songs in between.
What Mr. Nair Lacked?
Firstly the fact that Raftaar had to put an album fast so he can complete his deal somewhat affected the album and its performance. If the album would have been a deluxe album then I am damn sure it would have been 100 times better. The album showed how versatile Raftaar is. He can make songs from each genre smoothly. The pop songs, the chill hip hop songs, and hardcore ones, I loved each one. But again the way they are summed up in one album doesn't let me replay the album back to back. Another point is that the album was a mixtape rather than based on any theme. It had songs that were theme-based but the whole album was not conceptual. Whatever we say the album had a huge impact with over 20M streams it was a huge hit.
Ranklist:-
The album was a good mixture of commercial and lyrical song. I would rate this album at 6.5/10.
